PROJECT 1: Prototype Design

20/05/20 (W6): Landing Page Design Brainstorm

For this week, students need to choose one website topic and come out with at least 5 ideas in sketches. Apart from that, students needed to identify the weaknesses of the original website and come out with a new solution for the website design. Below was the information about the client chosen as well as the problem identification inn the given slides. Animation Corporate Website was the chosen topic from me as I thought it would be very interesting to redesign the website for one of my favourites animation studios.

FEEDBACK: Mr Lun said that the chosen topic for animation corporate website and the layout design sketches was just fine, I could proceed to the pre-design in PS.

27/05/20 (W7): Landing Page Pre-Design in Ps

For this week, students need to show their working progression on the pre-design in Photoshop. Students needed to come out at least 3 layout design choices with rational design purposes.

FEEDBACK:  Mr Lun mentioned the layout design was neat and clean. Overall is good, therefore I could proceed to plan for the HTML document as well as the CSS. Read more about the bootstrap too. Mr Shamsul mentioned that there was a very good analysis of the problem statement to the existing website. The thought in the design was well defined. The issues were clearly translated and design 5 is the right choice. Call-to-action was clear and well placed.

REFLECTION

20/05/20 (W6) 

• Experience: There was no new lecture for today but mainly focus on exercise 2 consultation which allows all of the students to consult for advice as well solution for the error. Besides was the same issue again, internet connection.
• Observation: I observed that my classmate had come out with a highly personalised website design that was truly interesting and creative! 
• Findings: I found that I still couldn't 100% fully understand the theory and the system of CSS, maybe I just need some more time to digest the CSS box model 😭😭😭 However it was great that lecturers were very patient to helping the students.

27/05/20 (W7) 

• Experience: There was no new lecture for today but mainly focus on Project 1 consultation.
• Observation: I observed that consideration is needed on improving the website weakness in a professional manner but not merely designing something you like.
• Findings: It was great that I could learn more from other peers' mistake to avoid the same mistake happening again in my design.
