📌 Task 1: Research Presentation


 (W1)  Collaboration & Contextual Research  

During the briefing session in the online class, Ms Lilian was introduced to be our lecturer for this module. She briefed us about the project outlines and the expected final outcome submission. This module will be conducted virtually once every week and students will form a group and work with one of the available enterprises to solve their issues. I joined group 3 and the group members included Syarafina, Zi Yi, Hanbo and Hyoung Yoon. After the lecturer briefing session, each of the groups will get to know their client who is randomly assigned through the zoom breakout room.

During the zoom meeting, my group get to know Ms Irene who is a social media entrepreneur of the DumoWongi brand based in Sabah. DumoWongi sells edible herbs product for local businesses partners, and consumers as well as empower the female community in the Kota Kinabalu area. After knowing the enterprise's current plan to enlarge their online business to western Malaysia as well as the issues encountered by the enterprise, my teammates started to work on the contextual research of the brand.

 # Consultation Note:   Ms Lilian mentioned that the interaction chemistry between the students and the enterprise was very good. Our lecturer also said Ms Irene was a friendly and keen person who will do live streaming of the herbs greenhouse and introduce various herbs plants to the students. 

 # Next Course of Action:   
- Finalise & summarise contextual research 
- Draft Google survey questions 
- Prepare questions for Irene in the next meeting



 (W2)  Survey Questions Design + Interview 

This week, my group continued to work on contextual research related to the brand and market. We proceed to compile the final contextual research data and do the final summary on the Miroboard. At the same time, we also start preparing and drafting the Google survey questions for the brand consumer. On the other hand, we also list down the questions that we were going to ask Ms Irene in the next meeting session in order to have a better understanding of the brand. Below are some screenshots of o my group working process in Miroboard.









 # Consultation Note:   Ms Lilian praised that our team had the most organised information arrangement in Miroboard and she really likes our team’s teamwork. Ms Lilian also gave us some feedback on the swot analysis and she was impressed that non-graphic design students were knowing the importance of having a swot analysis for the brand.

 # Next Course of Action:   
- Continue to polish survey questions  
- Prepare interview questions for the target user 



 (W3)  Survey Data Collection + Interview 

This week, my group members continued to work on the survey questions design in Miroboard. At the same time, Syara, Zi Yi and I will be interviewing one of the DumoWongi current users to gather more in-depth information regarding the current user’s thoughts towards the brand. After the meeting ended, I continued to summarise the interview data written by Zi Yi and Syara and proceed to do the translation for the English survey questions. Afterwards, Hanbo and I continue to add sticky notes information for the empathy map.

 # Consultation Note:   Ms Lilian reminded us to update our weekly peer assessment on Google drive and we shall be working faster for the survey data collection. The overall group work is in the right direction. 

  # Next Course of Action:   
- Complete google survey questions and distribute the survey
- Complet target user interview & data summary
- Complete empathy map, problem statement & How Might We Statement
- Complete competition analysis


 (W4)  Task 1 Presentation + Ideation 

This week, Syara, Hanbo and Yoon proceed to analyse and summarise the data collected through the Google survey. On the other hand, the rest of the teammates also continue to help with other categories including competitors' research, problem statements and so on while they were working on the survey data analysis. Subsequently, my teammates proceed to compile the research outcome from Miroboard to the google slide for our task 1 presentation. On Friday morning, our teammates meet up on discord for the presentation rehearsal, and we straight ahead conducted our presentation to Ms Lilian and Ms Irene.

 # Consultation Note:   Ms Lilian and Ms Irene were both very satisfied with the presentation and they were looking forward to the team’s next progression for the branding solution.

 # Next Course of Action:   
- Complete the blog & weekly peer assessment for week 1 - 4 
- Finalise and complete task 1 for submission
- Proceed to come out with design ideation & confirm the design plan with Ms Irene

 # Reflection:    I found that the collaboration with Ms Irene together with my teammates was good and I really appreciate Ms Irene for being very patient with our questions and interview arrangement in order to help us understand the business better. On the other hand, I found that it's challenging to arrange the weekly group meeting outside of them as all of us have a different class timetable.
